Copies

What a copy keeps (holds)

A copy does not have to keep everything. What it keeps is called what it holds.

Updated November 5, 2026 · For Keepfin 1.0

What you can choose#

  • Everything (on Android Everything in my library): all of your library, including what you add later.
  • Only some of it: pick any mix of spaces, Favourites and single playlists.

A short list works well for a car stick (just the playlists you want) or a phone card (Music only). One playlist can be kept on several copies at once.

Changing it later#

Open the copy from Settings → Storage & copies, go to the What it holds tab, change the choice and Save. Leaving something out never deletes it from that copy or from anywhere else. A file on the copy that is no longer held is listed as No longer held in Needs review and is never removed behind your back on a backup or two-way copy.

Overlapping choices#

When two choices include the same song (a space and a playlist, for example) it is kept as long as any of them holds it. The matrix view shows which copy holds what, and a song or playlist knows where it is kept.
