Devices

What each device may do

Pairing lets two devices sync the library. Anything more is something you allow, device by device.

Updated November 5, 2026 · For Keepfin 1.0

Deny by default#

A newly paired device can sync the library, and that is all. Each extra permission is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off again at any time. You set the permissions on the device that would do the work, for the device that asks.

The permissions#

Where to change them#

Open Settings → Devices and open the device's card under Your devices. Under Allowed for … there is a button for each permission above. Tap a button to allow it (it shows a tick) or to stop it. The names are the same on Windows and Android.

Sharing a library with a device#

If a library is not shared with a paired device yet, its card says so and offers Share with ….

Mobile data#

On Android

Files over mobile data is off for every device. Files then wait for Wi-Fi. The library list itself always syncs, because it is small.
