What's new in Keepfin 1.0.0

Keepfin 1.0 turns the downloader and player into something that keeps your library safe and in step across your devices.

Updated November 5, 2026 ยท For Keepfin 1.0

One Keepfin folder that you own#

Everything you keep now lives in one Keepfin folder: music, videos, photos, playlists and history, with the library kept alongside in a hidden folder. Move it to a new drive or computer and nothing breaks. Windows and Android both ask for the folder on the first start, and a careful setup window moves an earlier library over, checking every file.

Copies on drives, cards and folders#

Keep a second copy on an external drive, SD card, USB stick or network folder, as a backup with earlier versions, a two-way copy or a mirror. Choose what each one keeps, and see everything that needs a decision in one place.

Cloud copies#

Sign in to Google Drive, Dropbox or a WebDAV server inside Keepfin and keep a copy there, with no cloud app needed. Keepfin only sees its own folder.

Devices, Download on and Play from#

Pair your PC and phone on purpose, and they keep their libraries in step directly, with no account and no server. Send a link to the device that should download it. Play a song or video from another device without saving it. Join a library from a device you already use. Away from home, reach a device by its address, for example over Tailscale.

A new app icon, and a choice of eight#

Keepfin has a new main icon, Ink Tide, a shark rising from a wave, and you can switch to one of seven other designs.

Also new#

  • A few short start pages ask how you want to use Keepfin (Keepfin Complete or Just downloads) and where your folder goes.
  • Settings has nine categories with the same names on both apps: Downloads, Library & playback, Storage & copies, Devices, Appearance, Notifications, Help, Support Keepfin and About Keepfin.
  • Every change in the library shows a notice with Undo, and files you delete wait in Trash for 30 days.

Upgrading from 0.5#

Your history, playlists, favourites and settings carry over. The first start opens the setup window if Keepfin finds anything from before. Nothing is removed until its copy has been checked.
