Library
The player
Play anything you saved right inside Keepfin, with controls that follow your device.
Music#
A now-playing bar stays at the bottom and keeps playing while you browse. Open it for the cover, the queue, shuffle and repeat. The queue (Play now, Play next, Add to queue) survives restarts, and the bar comes back paused on the song you were on.
On Windows
Windows media keys and the Windows media flyout work with the player.
On Android
Playback continues in the background with a notification, lock-screen controls and Bluetooth or headset buttons. It pauses if you unplug headphones.
Lyrics#
When a song finishes downloading, Keepfin looks it up on LRCLIB, a free community lyrics library, and saves the lyrics with the song, inside the file or as a .lrc file next to it. Timed lyrics follow along in the expanded player. You can switch automatic lyrics off in the settings (Add lyrics to songs). Lyrics in your own files are used too.

Even volume and crossfade#
Volume normalisation (in Settings → Library & playback) is on by default. It evens out loud and quiet songs by lowering the louder ones. It never boosts, so nothing distorts. Keepfin uses the loudness tags in a file when they exist, and otherwise measures each song once in the background.
Crossfade blends the end of one song into the next, from 0 to 12 seconds. It is a Windows setting (Settings → Library & playback → Crossfade) and is off by default. With it off, songs switch within a few milliseconds, which is close to gapless but not exactly gapless. Android has no crossfade setting.
Sleep timer and speed#
Set a sleep timer to pause playback after a time or at the end of the current song, and change the playback speed. Both are in the player's menu.
Equalizer and bass boost#
The player has an equalizer with ten presets (Rock, Pop, Jazz and more), five bands and a bass boost. Each device remembers its own settings. Open the player's menu and choose Equalizer.
On Android
It is available once a song is playing and only on phones that provide one. The audio output (speaker, headphones, Bluetooth) is chosen in your phone's quick settings.
Video#
Videos resume where you stopped and are marked watched near the end. The video player has a seek bar with chapters, playback speed, subtitles (from files beside the video or inside it), an audio-track choice, picture-in-picture, and an auto-play-next countdown with a cancel button.
On Windows
Keyboard shortcuts: Space or K play and pause, J and L skip 10 seconds, the left and right arrows skip 5 seconds, the up and down arrows change volume, F full screen, M mute, C captions, N next and P previous. Press ? in the video player for the full list. The shortcuts for the rest of Keepfin are in Settings → Help.
Some files use a container the player cannot open directly. Keepfin repackages those once, without losing quality, and plays the copy. If a file uses a format your PC cannot decode, the player says so and offers Open in another app.
On Android
Tap the screen for controls. The player's menu has chapters, speed and Take screenshot. Turn the phone for landscape full screen.
Open with another app#
Open in another app is in every item menu. In Settings → Library & playback you can choose whether Play uses Keepfin's player or another app (Open media with).
