Private and age-restricted content

Keepfin never gets around a login. It uses your own signed-in session, so only what your account can already open is available.

Updated November 5, 2026 · For Keepfin 1.0

When you need it#

  • A video is private, members-only or age-restricted.
  • A playlist is private, or it is your Watch later or Liked list.
  • A site says it needs you to confirm you are not a bot.

On Windows

Windows uses cookies from a signed-in browser, or from a file. Open Settings → Downloads → Website sign-in and under Use cookies from choose Browser or cookies.txt.

  • Pick the browser. Firefox is the most reliable one.
  • Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Chrome, Brave and others) can block this on Windows by locking or encrypting their cookies. Keepfin warns you when that happens; sign in with Firefox or use a cookies file instead.

On Android

Open Settings → Downloads → Sign in to a site and sign in to the site inside Keepfin (for example YouTube or Google, Instagram, X, Facebook or TikTok). When you tap Done, Keepfin keeps the site's cookies in a private file that only the app can read.

What this does and does not do#

  • Keepfin does not know or store your password. It keeps the session cookies, on your device only.
  • Cookies are never copied into your Keepfin folder, to your copies or to other devices.
  • Sessions expire. If a download asks for a sign-in again, sign in again. Clear sign-in on Android, or Remove under the cookie file on Windows, forgets it.
  • Only content your account can already watch is available. Keepfin cannot open anything you could not open yourself.
