Downloading

Download a video

One box takes any link. Keepfin works out what it is, shows what is available, and saves only what you choose.

Updated November 5, 2026 · For Keepfin 1.0

The short version#

On Windows

  1. Open Downloads and paste the link into the box that says Paste a video, song, playlist or post link, or drop a link onto the window.
  2. Wait for Reading formats. Keepfin opens a window with the available qualities, each with an estimated size.
  3. Choose Video or Audio under What to keep (a song that has a music video also offers Both), pick a quality, and check Save to. Subtitles, cutting and chapters are on the Extras tab.
  4. Press Download. Progress shows in Downloads, and the finished file appears in your folder (and in your library with Keepfin Complete).

On Android

  1. In any app, use Share and choose Keepfin, or paste the link into Keepfin yourself.
  2. Keepfin inspects a shared link automatically. Downloading always waits for you to tap Download.
  3. Pick a quality, check Save to (with Keepfin Complete), and tap Download.
  4. Watch progress in Downloads or in the notification. When it is done, play it from your library.

Where it is saved#

With Keepfin Complete, the Save to button next to Download shows the space the file will go to, for example "Save to: Music". Changing it affects this download only. Links from music services go to Music by default; everything else goes to Downloads. With Just downloads, files go to the folder in Settings → Downloads under Save to. Read Where your files go.

Already have it?#

When the same recording is already in the space, Keepfin says Already in Music (or the space's name) and offers to play it, or Download anyway. Nothing is skipped silently. Live, remix and acoustic versions count as different songs.

What Keepfin cannot do#

  • Keepfin saves what the site makes available. A higher setting cannot create quality the source does not have.
  • Some content needs you to be signed in (see Private and age-restricted content).
  • Music from streaming services is protected, so Keepfin never takes audio from them. See Music links.
