Adding files you already have
The library lists what Keepfin saved and what you choose to add. It never dumps your whole device in.
Add files#
On Windows
Open a space, press + Add and choose Device files (or Add files), or drag files or folders from File Explorer onto the space. Choose Copy into the space (the default) or Move into the space. Keepfin recognises exact copies by content, so dropping the same file twice does not duplicate it.
On Android
Open a space, press + Add and choose Device files to open Android's file picker and pick one or more files. They are copied into the space, and Keepfin needs no storage permission to do it.
Files you put in by hand#
If you copy files into the Keepfin folder yourself, Keepfin notices and lists them in Needs review so you can choose whether to add them. It never adds them behind your back.
Edit info#
You can change a song's title, artist, album, track number and cover. Keepfin writes the change into the file's tags, so other players see it. Renaming an item renames its file safely.
