Downloading
Download audio and MP3
Choose Audio instead of Video and Keepfin saves only the sound, in the format you pick.
Choose Audio#
- Paste the link and wait for the review.
- Under What to keep, choose Audio.
- Pick the Audio format (MP3, M4A, Opus, FLAC or WAV) and the quality, or the original audio stream to keep it untouched. MP3 starts at 320 kbps.
- Check Save to and press Download.

Cover art and tags#
On the Extras tab, under What goes in the file, Cover, Tags and Chapters write the picture and details into the file, so your music player shows them. Keepfin also looks up lyrics for finished songs (see The player).
Which format?#
| Format | Good for |
|---|---|
| MP3 | Plays almost everywhere, including old players and cars. You choose the bitrate. |
| M4A | Good quality at a small size; plays on phones and most computers. |
| Opus | Efficient and modern; some old players cannot read it. |
| FLAC | Lossless packing of the source audio. Large files, and it cannot be better than the source. |
| WAV | Uncompressed. Very large; only for editing. |
| Original stream | The site's own audio, saved without converting it. |
Converting to a lossless format does not add quality that the source did not have.
Audio goes to your Music space only from music links#
Keepfin sorts by where the link came from, not by file type. Links from YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer go to Music. An audio grab from a random video goes to Downloads, so it never mixes into your music library. Use Save to to choose differently. YouTube Music links open on Audio and YouTube links on Video; you can keep a song and its music video together.
