Music links from other services

A link from a music service tells Keepfin what you want. It does not take audio from that service.

Updated November 5, 2026 · For Keepfin 1.0

What happens to the link#

  1. Keepfin reads the public details of the track, album or playlist: titles, artists, durations and cover art.
  2. For each song it looks for the matching recording on YouTube Music and picks the best match (close duration, similar title and artist, official or topic channels).
  3. It downloads that recording as audio and tags it with the details from the link you pasted: title, artist, album, track number and cover.

Matches can differ from what you expected#

A match is a recording, not a promise. It can be a different version, such as a live take or a re-upload, or occasionally the wrong song. Check the matches in the review before you download, and use the alternatives it offers when one looks wrong. Keepfin remembers the choices you make for a link.

If a service page cannot be read, Keepfin says so instead of guessing.

YouTube Music links#

Links from music.youtube.com open on Audio with tags and cover art on, like the other music links. If you would rather get the video, change YouTube Music links to Video in Settings → Downloads.

Where the songs go#

Music links are saved to your Music space by default. See Where your files go.
